Week 7 response
"Compared to enjoying Dave Hickey, reading any other art critic is like doing your taxes" Peter Plagens. I can completely relate to that quote. Reading Air Guitar has definetly been a pleasant change from the almost snobby and obnoxiously complex reading we've had so far. He states his views more as opinions rather than facts, and dosen't talk down to his readers but rather relates to them. He even says in the first chapter: "I have never taken anything printed in a book to heart that was not somehow comfirmed in my ordinary experience..."Pg 10 Thats true, I don't about anyone else but whenever I read something, wether it be book or an article, or whatever, unless I've had any personal experience with the topic at hand it won't have a full impact on me.
