"It often feels as if we can no longer experience anything if we don't first alienate it. In fact, alienation may now be a necessary preface to experience."(pg 52) "Much of our experience can only be brought home through meditation." (pg 52) I feel as though that we are so wrapped up in our own lives, and the busyness of just trying to get by, that it can be hard to step away from that when viewing art; thus this is where the importance of the "White Cube" becomes necessary. Yes, it may not be the best setting to display art, but I think we should feel fortunate to have the opportunity to escape not out, but in.
