week four!
I was very intrigued by the exploration of context as content. It seems like a no-brainer at this point after all of our talks of installation art, and after reading the first book. It is interesting to explore how that realization and exploration cam about and when it did. I also thought that William c. Seitz's Monet curation was fascinating because it was one of the first instances where someone's work was so interestingly interpreted and presented and was given new meaning. The idea that even the oldest works, and seemingly shredded to pieces and overanalyzed pieces can be reinterpreted strikes me as a good thing and progressive.
