The Plants we have encountered in our area are as follows:

What may have been started as an architectually designed landscape, the open hillside has transformed into a complex, multi- habitat environment. Measuring roughly 20 feet by 30 feet, our area has a slope of approximately 35 degrees. The higher elevation consists of light, sandy, well draining soil, while the lower elevation contains very compacted, clay-like soil that has poor drainage. Also evident to the lower portion of our site being more saturated is the extreme abundance of horsetails found in the early Fall.

StumpStump: Evergreen woods version of moist forest edge

We walked to the woods at Evergreen to look at similar habitat places. We saw this stump that much like the stump in our site also has a huckleberry bush. It shares other species as well, suck as trailing blackberry, sword ferns, and maiden hair ferns.
