Who's History?
History is written by the victors. Although trite, the foundations of western society are made of ethnocentric stories told and then retold until they become cultural truths. Even when the truth becomes clear, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the cultural truth often lives on. The Pythagorean Theorem for instance is a story children learn from primary school. Pythagorus was a CLEARLY the discoverer of the Pythagorean Theorum, It's named after him. As time has progressed, and cultures have combined we have a more honest truth. The Chou Pei Suan Ching is an anciant chinese text written well before the time of Pythagorus that proves the Chinese were using advanced mathmatics while the europeans were still creating a number system.
When something as fundimental as this pythagorean story is, it is also obsolete, and the west realizes that their history is not always theirown, but rather an amalgamation of a fuller world history,
