Monday - food committee is meeting Terry at his office at 2 p.m. to buy food for the retreat.
Tuesday morning (10 am - come on time): We will gather for breakfast and connect again in community. Breakfast potluck. Cynthia and Terry are bringing a pancake griddle, plates and utensils and tea (if you bring your own plate/fork/cup then we use less disposibles). Selena/Louis are bringing some pancake mix. Everyone else is bringing good stuff to add to that.
During the morning we will check-in about trips, retreats and various and sundry other items. We will also have some program integration and retreat preparation.
Tuesday afternoon: Poster presenations. For those of you who have been away, your presentation will NOT be a formal stand-up presenation, but rather a poster presentation. This is described in a power point presentation which is in the downloadable files (in the column on the left of this page). It is titled posters.ppt.
Wednesday morning - 10 am- leave for Millersylvania for our final retreat. We will return Thursday afternoon.
Make sure to bring all your sleeping gear, warm clothes, notebooks, pens, and three or four copies of your self-evaluation.
Also - please bring whatever you will need for the Masquerade Ball. If you'd like to use the costume shop, please do. The hours are M-F, noon until 5. I've also added to downloadable files a sheet which explains the policies of the costume shop. It's called Using the Shop.
In the spirit of the Masquerade Ball, we will ask our ego characters to come to life so that we may celebrate the mythic stories of humanity, connecting ourselves to the larger stories around us, stories over which we have little control. Perhaps we can have a Banquet of Free Human Beings, where we all can simply share in the large Mythic story of life.
In preparation for the Ball, we remind you to engage in much of the work we have done over the past three quarters:
- Get a sense of yourself. Who is this person living out this Mythic life?
- Ask yourself for something to present at the Ball - maybe a poem, a story, a song, or a dance. Something that represents you, your gifts, your wounds.
- Please come in appropriate attire - it doesn't need to be a costume, but rather how you dress when you are directly in an ego character - part of your Mythic Life.
- At the ball, we will each have a chance to take the stage and introduce our ego character/Mythic Life, and share our gift to the world, in the form of art.
- Don't worry too much about this. This isn't a talent show, it's really just a sharing of our true essence, what we are up to in these bodies on this planet, what we are doing, or are going to do with this one life we have to live.
- Please interpret this assignment in any way that works for you. If you get stuck, email, or come find us.
- One idea - write your own obituary. Doing so can point you in the right direction.
