[edit] Net Neutrality Activism
Net Neutrality - Network Neutrality (Net Neutrality for short) is and expansive and technical concept that involves both political and economic ramifications. Major corporations and smaller grassroots groups have collaborated in a exciting and spectacular way in show of support for a cause that is in the best interest of all internet users, both casual and extremely active. This is by no means an issue that will disappear anytime soon and has been reemerging in the MSM. I will attempt to inform about what net neutrality is, why it is is important, who is out there trying to protect it, and what you can do to make a difference.

[edit] Prison Activism Online
Prison Activism and Resistance- Will cover the activism, education and advocacy efforts of online organizations against the injustices of the American Prison System. Activists against the prison industry come together over the internet to plan real life actions as well as to expose a system hidden from the public sphere. Main Stream Media often depicts a view of the prison system that is lacking contextual information, prison activism online reveals that many stated facts are obscured to favor the prison industry. In addition, I would like to explore the issue of community involvement and awareness, how this communication from the 'outside' 'in' is essential to breaking down the creation of the convict as the 'enemy' and releasing fear on the individual level. With this release of fear will be the realization that punishment is not a means of rehabilitation and a change must occur on a community level, enabling compassion and healing through communication.

[edit] Native America Online
Native America Online - My research topic is the presence of Native America on the internet. Native America meaning the natives, aboriginals, first peoples, indians, etc. of the US. Presence meaning webpages, blogs, wikis, etc. made by and/or for Native Americans. I've found that there are very few webpages or online resources available regarding Native issues and movements. I intend to illustrate this point and hopefully come to a conclusion as to why. While also creating an informative guide to what IS out there, what's needed, and touch on some of the current important topics related to this long suffering and often marginalized group of peoples.
