Hello Everyone,

I am one of the old guys in the class, I have returned to college after many years away from taking formal education classes. My children are now grown and married and I decided it was time for me to finsh what I started so long ago. I insisted that my children all attend college and now it is time to put my money where my mouth is. I enjoy learning new things and I look forward to participating in classes at Evergreen and interacting with my fellow students.

Interests:

Time spent with my wife, my children, and my grandchildren; all types of outdoor activities; woodworking; participation in church activities.

I am also interested in technology and how it is used in practical and real world contexts. I use computers everyday at work and I conduct computer forensic examinations. My work exposes how technology, like all tools can be used for both good and evil. I believe it is important for us all to consider both the costs and the benefits as we cruise through the wonderful world now available to us on the Internet. Great freedom also exposes us to great potential loss of our personal privacy and security and this fact makes it incumbant on each of us to beware of how much privacy and security we are willing to give up.

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on the basics of Internet privacy: [[1]]
