Justice as fairness

This is part of the original position concept. It's the notion that the two principles of justice (equal rights for all; concern for the greater good) are universally accepted to be fair from the beginning. It does not necessarily mean justice and fairness are the same things, just that, theorectically, those who are free and equal will rise to the perceived principles of justice given that the situation they emerge from is fair according to said principles. Justice as fairness allows for people to feel in control of their own collective destiny.
