Management information systems are intended to aid in corporate processes, expediating the flow of resources, particularly in regards to ICT. They also serve as an example of how certain new societal structures are more accessible to those with more resources to do as they see fit to benefit themselves. In contrast, community informatics empowers those who typically don't have a socio/economic advantage.
