Weak ties are the most prominent in society for the proliferation of information via social networks. Because our close friends are likely to have similar experiences to us, as they associate with us regularly, aquaintances are more likely to introduce us to not so familiar, maybe even new ideas. Strong ties exist between individuals who spend a lot of time together and develop significant mutual bonds.
