Tuesday, March 8 (Week 10) – Welcome Back Brunch and Studio Clean Up 9:30-12
All messy studio work stops by 9:00 Tuesday morning. Please bring something to share for brunch on Tuesday as we re-gather for our final week of the program.
After the brunch and sharing of Field Study stories, we will clean the studio and organize it into a gallery format. Please be prepared to remove or store out of sight all supplies and personal property.
Set-Up for Presentations –
Presentations Tuesday afternoon are in the Critique Room; Wednesday and Thursday arein the studio.
1. Neatly hang an exhibit of your Field Study Project studio work which includes all finished works. Arrange works in an order which shows the progression of your ideas, so that it is easy for the viewers to see how your theme work evolved. (Note: if your pieces were on-site installations, try to plan to re-create one of the installations or a model of it.) Post your concluding 600-800 word essay with your exhibit.
2. Put your Field Journal on the table prepared for the Field Journal Exhibit
2. Have your Powerpoint presentation on a clean CD ready to put on Susan’s computer. She will be collecting the CD at the end of the presentation, so do not plan to simply bring your computer or a jump drive.
Preparing the Oral Presentation –
1. Limit your presentation to 15 minutes maximum, allowing another 5 minutes for set up and take down of work.
2.Use the first five to 10 minutes to give an overall understanding of your project. Use your Powerpoint and your displayed studio work to share the progression of your ideas and creative exploration and to show your results.
3. Save at least two minutes to teach the class one or two things you learned about a specimen or phenomenon at your site. Include in your Powerpoint one or more photographs of your field journal pages to help with this.
4. Allow 2-5 minutes for the audience to ask questions and be prepared to answer them.
5.After your presentation: please remove your work from the walls and stack it neatly at on tables at the front end of the studio along with your Studio Project assignments for final review.
