1) A one page statement of your learning goals
2) Every week, a reflection and evaluation of what you’ve learned
3) Every week, comments on each other’s weekly statements, posted to Moodle site
4) A 5-page position paper
5) A 5-page essay of film analysis
Research:
1) A log of encounters with rights language in daily life and in media
2) A 3-4 page prospectus for a winter quarter project
Winter Quarter
Speaking:
1) Active participation in seminar
2) A final presentation of your research
Writing:
1) In 5 specified weeks, a reflection and evaluation of what you’ve learned
2) In 5 specified weeks, comments on each other’s weekly statements
3) A 4-5 page essay, due week five, on Anil’s Ghost and at least two other texts read in common
4) A 3-page essay, due week eight on The Trial and at least one other text read in common 5) A first draft and a final draft self-evaluation plus feedback in groups
Research:
