New Students:
We welcome new students to the program during winter quarter. In preparation, new students should read during the quarter break “Native Seattle” by Coll Thrush, watch the PBS special “Poisoned Waters” (available on-line http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/poisonedwaters/view/), and view the film “Little Caughnawaga” by Kreaghan Tarbell, which will be on reserve at the library as of week one, winter quarter. Students will be expected to participate in an extra seminar on these materials.
All Students:
The first book will be “The Truth About Stories” by Thomas King. Other books on order at the TESC book store for winter quarter include: “High Stakes” by Jessica R. Cattelino, “The Heights: Anatomy of a Skyscraper” by Kate Ascher, and ”Unquenchable” by Robert Glennon. We will also continue to work with “Native Hubs” by Renya Ramirez from fall quarter.
