WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS
- Seminar preparation (Saturdays at the beginning of seminar)– Seminar is a space for re-examining and deepening your understanding of learning and education through conversations with your colleagues about a text. Each week, you will prepare for these conversations in three ways: (a) reading the seminar text; (b) writing a 2-3 page formal paper in response to a weekly prompt; and (c) self-assessing, setting goals and reflecting on your progress with the collaboration and communication skills that are involved in a productive seminar.
- Washington State Standards Project (Every Saturday starting week 4) – The purposes of this ongoing project are (i) to familiarize yourself with the specifics Washington State Learning Standards for your endorsement areas; (ii) to examine ways in which the goals outlined in the standards relate the skills and knowledge that students need as adults in their everyday lives, as citizens, and as stepping stones into their professional lives; and (iii) to self assess and examine how you will refine your knowledge and skill as part of your preparation for teaching.
