Step Five: Assessing What I Don't Know
I ask myself what I don't know. I still don't have a basic background in my topic. So to fix this problem:
I went to the library catalog at school, and I typed "nonpoint source pollution" and "water." I got back the title:
- Ritter, Agricultural nonpoint source pollution: watershed management and hydrology. TD428.A37 A362 2001.
Then I looked up water law and got back:
- Goldfarb, William. Water law. KF5569.G65 1988
Helpful Hints:
A good place to go is to the reference area of the library, which can be more difficult to search by computer.
Because the collection is shelved according to L.C. subject headings then sometimes it can be helpful to find one source and go to that area in the collection. Often times you'll find other materials that more closely relate to your topic and would have otherwise been missed.
