Garfield elementary school in Jennifer Billings Preschool

Theme: Color mixing with water and food coloring.

Relating to the water element of winter, and the preschools weekly theme of rainbows, as well as last quarters lesson plan which involved colors and mixing.

Framed papertowles decorated with food colored water applied with medicine droppers. The children experamented with mixing primary colores to make secondary colors. Read book Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh - about mixing colors.

After the book we talked about what colors had been mixed and made while they were doing their own projects.

They all seemed to have a lot of fun with this activity.
