Plant Study

I chose the White Willow Tree for my plant study. It holds many healing and pain relieving attributes. Salicin found in the bark of the Willow used in its' common form, called Aspirin. Used by the Chickasaw Indians for headaches and healing. Brought over to North America by the early European settlers in the 1700's. It lives and thrives in a wet to moist climate usually near a river, stream, or wet land and desires Sun to medium shade for optimum growth.
