[edit] LUCAS A. CUÉLLAR

[edit] BIO

I am 27. I was born in 1980 in Portland, Maine.
I am interested in photography, music, art, activism for social justice
the law, queer life and parenting, community and sustainability. I am a member of marginalized populations, i.e. I identify as a multi-racial transman; my ethnic identity is Colombian, Italian, and American. In saying I am a transman, I mean that I was born female, and I have “transitioned” to male. This journey I undertook through the use of testosterone, and I have identified as transsexual in the past, but currently use the term trans or transgender, because that is actually what I wish to claim.

[edit] EDUCATIONAL STATUS

I am a senior at Evergreen.
I have spent my educational career studying political science, cultural studies,
critical race theory, gender studies, post-colonial theory, civil rights movements,
anti-discrimination law, Federal Indian Law, and human rights law and culture.
I studied at Eugene Lang College, in NYC, from 2000 to 2002.
I plan on going to law school after finishing my undergraduate degree.

[edit] WORK HISTORY

[edit] Action

I have worked with a number of organizations and action groups dedicated to social change in one form or another.
These groups include Refuse & Resist, CLIP (Center for Low-Income Power),
POWER (Parents Organizing for Welfare and Economic Rights), Amnesty International, and more.
I have also done a lot of protest work with small groups of friends and allies around
Queer activism, Trans activism, Latino/a Rights, Anti-Racism, Immigrant's Rights,
Veteran's Rights, Anti-War Movements, Antiglobalization Movements, etc.

[edit] Labor

I was born into restaurant work, and since then have
done everything imaginable to do with serving people food.
I also have held a number of other in between jobs.
