We will undertake several projects over the course of the year. The goal of these projects is to provide students with the opportunity to conduct independent work to expand their learning within the guidelines provided by the faculty.

Fall quarter projects:
Assemble a mineral kit and write a report on the minerals in the kit
Determine the physical properties of an unknown mineral sample
Adopt a mineral - Adopt an element project

Winter quarter projects:
Complete the study of the unknown mineral and write a report
Begin the science carnival project

Spring quarter projects:
Science carnival project
Community service project (involving science education)
