Essay Assignment on the Readings

For each seminar you will write an essay that explains your thoughts and interpretations of the assigned readings, such as: what was the author trying to accomplish? From what perspective were they writing? What symbols or metaphors are represented by particular characters or plot elements? How does this material relate to other assigned readings? Develop your own ideas in preparation for seminar and to share them with faculty and students. We have all read the book, so don’t summarize or describe the content more than is necessary to illustrate your ideas. Your paper should be 1-2 pages, grammatically correct, well organized, typed in 12-point font with one-inch margins, and stapled.
