Arts, Environment and the Child: Walking the Wheel of the Seasons

Garden

Step 1: I have a very small apartment, so I decided to make an indoor herb garden. I would like to plant basil, thyme, chervil, and parsley, maybe some others...

I already have a bunch of pots to plant in, but no soil and the seeds In have are not what I would like to plant.

Step 2: I got seeds from the gardener I work for, since I knew they'd be organic. He gave me basil, chervil, parsley, peppers, and dill. He says some of the packets are old and I can take my chance...but they're free.

I went to Black Lake Organics and bought seed mixture and fish fertilizer. I planted one seed packet (in case they wouldn't grow) into each 8x8 in. container: 2 basil, parsley, dill, chervil, 2 peppers, cherry tomato. I filled each pot to the top. They are about 12 in. deep. One of the basil is planted in a 4x4 in. container which is about 6 in. deep.

I watered them by spray bottle and placed them near the heater, which I turned up. I labeled each one.
