Due Process

Equal Protection Clause

Bolling v. Sharpe (1954)

Details:

Bolling v. Sharpe was similar to and argued alongside Brown v. Board of Education, but separately because it specifically dealt with the District of Columbia, to which the Equal Protection Clause does not technically apply. The Fifth Amendment, guaranteeing Due Process, does apply in the District of Columbia, however, and segregation on a racial basis was determined to violate this right.
