1. Introduction Here I will define Censorship and Selection in my own words as have every one of the authors of the books that I have read, done themselves. I plan to write about the dangers of Censorship and why people feel that either we need freedom to read what we want and make our own decisions, or that we need to censor free thought in hopes that children will still grow up with good moral and ethical values.

2.History Here I plan on talking about the history of Censorship and where it came from. I will reference Battle of the books and Anatomy of a book controversy, while Battle of the books references 1950-1985 and Anatomy references after that 1971 to the present. In this paragraph I want to show that Censorship is not a recent controversy and has been going on since the 1950’s

3. Examples In this section I want to cite specific examples of books that were banned because of content. I want to cite specific passages in books and which organizations of what state banned them. I will not try and make up some statistics based on states but I will simply show the facts which coordinate with the states.

4. Historical Book Burning This section will deal with the history of book burning. Based in Germany but reaching as far forward as current events. On page 10 of Battle of the Books it talks about book burning as the ultimate censorship. “That is why book burning is so powerful a symbol of censorship, a burned book is permanently destroyed.”

5. Future of Censorship. What censorship will be like if allowed and the effects on our children and grandchildren.
