Note from Kathleen: Hi, all: I want to say
once again how grateful I am to all of you for reading this.
And in spite of my continual admonitions to students not to preface all of
their work with apologies, I want to say that I have not had the chance to revise
or even edit the third section contained in this chapter; if you notice things
that seem entirely unconnected to what came before, or places where I claim
to argue something of which you have no memory, I would love it if you would
point these out to me. Otherwise, I can use any help you can offer, and
I'm really pleased to share this with you (if also slightly shy about it). Enjoy
having the tables turned for once! Best, Kathleen
(P.S. I haven't yet put in my footnotes for secondary sources,
and many page numbers are missing -- that is the meaning of the xxx
you see whenever I write "cite xxx"... I will supply these,
and an extensive bibliography, in the final version and am happy
to share that without whomever is interested.)
Wednesday, April 16
