We have three required books:
Inventing Human Rights, by Lynn Hunt
Cosmopolitanism--Ethics in a World of Strangers, by K.A. Appiah
Blue Covenant, by Maude Barlow
The arguments presented by these authors will help us deepen our understanding of human rights and water; they will also provide us good examples of strategies for creating arguments. We will be reading for the substance of what these authors say, and we will also be reading to study the patterns these writers have created for making arguments.
