Range:
Restricted to Pacific Northwest, British Columbia south to Oregon.
Identification:
Face each side with pair of longitudinal grooves, joined by median impression; length 11-12mm.
Ecology:
At the border of standing fresh water, often small ponds, or in marshes. It occurs where the soil is soft, rich in organic matters, and the vegetation is dense (Lindroth 1961-1969).
On the Evergreen State College campus, the species is known from one specimen collected by the 1998 Biodiversity and Global Change program. It was collected in a pitfall trap on transect B, in a marshy area.
