Identification:
Small species (5 mm) with well developed eyes; antennae pubescent from the second segment; body color piceous to ferrugineous and nonmetallic; with dense transverse microsculpture.
Range:
Holarctic.
Natural History:
Forty species represented in North America as well as three species introduced from Europe. Species occur in shady places, and are moderately hygrophilous.
