Identification: This species can be seperated from the other species with only a single yellow thoracic stripe ( B. californicus) by the color of the pile on the head. In B. vosnesenskii species the head pile is all yellow, in B. californicus it is black.

Geography: B. vosnesenskii is found in the Pacific coast states from Washington to California.
