This website is a brief overview of the research I did during the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 school years at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. I have worked under the guidance and encouragement of Dr. E.J. Zita. I would love to hear any feedback and/or questions. Thank you for visiting.

Can magnetic waves in the auroral region transform into acoustic waves?

My research focuses on magnetic and acoustic waves associated with aurorae (a.k.a. Northern Lights = Aurora Borealis and Southern Lights = Aurora Australis).

How are aurorae created?
Can we hear the aurorae?
Wave transformation on the Sun
What is ß?
How can a magnetic wave transform into an acoustic wave?
Does ß=1 anywhere in Earth’s atmosphere?
