Students will identify an interesting/important organism or interaction in temperate rainforests, and figure out a "hook" that would make it interesting to non-scientists. They will write a short (five page) scientific paper with 5-10 citations. Students will fashion a speech, piece of popular writing, website, or other creative expression that targets a specific audience (foresters, conservations groups, students, etc.). Each student will present his/her dissemination piece to the program at the end of the quarter as a short oral presentation.
