Awakening the Dreamer, Pursuing the Dream is designed to help students meet this challenge. To do so, we will focus on the individual's relation to self, society, leadership and the creative process. This program is intended for students who seek to explore and refine their core values in a context where they can act upon them with increasing awareness and integrity.
Prepare a portfolio with a minimum of the following:
Things to Remember:
- The final draft of your paper is due week 10, one week from the day it was handed back in week 9.
- Your Performative Presentations are due Tuesday morning. You need to work in groups of 3-5 students to prepare your final 12 minute (max) performative response of the quarter. The presentation should do at least the following:
For those of you who have been asking about Friday yoga:
o Showcase some information from each person’s final paper of the quarter. What did you each learn and how can you incorporate that into the presentation?
o In addition, integrate at least one idea from at LEAST one text we read this quarter – including Landmarks.
Next week you will need to prepare your portfolio for Thursday (week 10). You can begin collating your quarter's work in a 3-ring binder,. Remember to include the learning goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the quarter.
Can you believe it's week 8 already?
You have a lot on your plates. Here is what is expected this week:
Take your draft to the writing lab sometime this week. Call first to make an appointment - they are expecting us. They have lots of room for us on Wednesday and also during Prime Time in A dorm from 6-9. Take the assignment and when you are finished, write us a paragraph about what you did and what you got out of the session.
What's happening this week in BECOMING THE DREAM (haha)?
Wednesday - Yoga in CRC 116. Afterwards - we will work to peer review your prospectus so bring your latest version (yes, you can feel free to update it beforehand) - a copy for yourself and one copy for each member of your peer study group. Don't forget!
WE'RE HALF WAY THROUGH!
During Week 5 we will be encountering a great deal of material about Africa; books, a guest speaker, a dance workshop, and a powerful film.
