Patricia, the line about gratitude with attitude as your top most platitude cracked me up. I hear ya! I don't consider it a small thing to be grateful for breath, for a roof over our heads. There is always a way to look up, and sometimes that is the way. I think its great that you know you tend toward darkness but don't let that tendency dictate your life.
Your gratitude letter is proof of your loving heart. You remind me that life is such an interesting journey. I don't believe anything is random either. Your post reminds me of the abundance of all that is good, even when viewed through the darkness.
