I was really touched by this piece on your relationship with your father. I have been very fortunate to have grown up supported by amazingly loving, wise parents, so it is difficult for me to fully comprehend what your reality would have been like as a child. however, so apparent in your story is the fact that you were able to break this destructive cycle and metamorphisize into the kind, genuine person that you are today. I have no doubt that this process must have taken an ocean of resilience and steadfast determination, but at the cost of your happiness and wellbeing the dividend was clearly worth the effort.
