Lacey,

I think there are a lot of people out there like you trying to do their best to focus on the positive events life has to offer. I too find myself trying to apply the concepts of Positive Psychology to my daily life.

Your comments on relationships made me think about the Authentic Happiness reading. People in a healthy relationship tend to be happier than their single counterparts. Although there is always a risk associated with the reward since an abusive relationship brings more displeasure than no relationship at all.

Your poetry writing must be a valuable coping skill; giving you the ability to create while expressing your feelings. A great portion of life satisfaction is being able to deal with stressors and negativity.

You seem like a strong person who has had great success relying on few others. On the other hand, there are situations in which the need for others can have its merit. The beetles, for example, were able to be more creative as a group than as individuals. Perhaps the need for community and others centers on this idea?
