Chelsea,

I can relate to your mood lifting activities because I also selected exercise and music to help lift my mood. It is good to see you wanting to continue your routine. One of the things that helped me is focusing on the idea that overcoming the difficulty of starting is worth the way you feel about the positive results.

I can’t think of a simpler way to calm the body and mind than simple breathing. One can take a moment to breathe virtually anywhere and anytime and expect some benefit. I am glad to hear this strategy has been successful for you. Perhaps you could share some of your breathing techniques with the kids you work with.

Your second activity sounds like it was a great experience for you. The simple task of being there and sharing your time with someone else to listen can be so important. It is easy to get caught up in the hurry of doing and overlook the simple needs of others. You may not have been saving the entire planet, but it sounds like you made a difference in at least one person's world.
