It is fabulous that you recognize the need to take that time for yourself to work out. I'm not able to do much of it myself due to a previous fractured leg, but I do love a good power walk by the water and in the woods. The brain chemicals work sooooo much better after the walk and I too seem to be able to get so much more accomplished with less negetive talk in my neuro pathways.
On page 81 of Compton's book it says, "Mindfulness is paying attention to one's own on-going experience in a way that allows openness and flexibility. It is being fully present and aware during our daily activities". Ellen Langer (1989) says that "well-being is not associated with moving through life on automatic pilot but with actively participating in the ongoing experiences of life with openness and creativity. Many people go through life waiting for something important, significant, or meaningful to happen, and all the time they forget to notice their real lives."
You are not guilty of that, my friend. One day you will look back at how hectic your life was at this point...and start laughing. Whether you will be in a white coat with no sleeves is the question. :) Hang on!
