Play: Student 1
Here is what I came up with for my character - of course there may need to be some tweaking once Steven posts for Student 2.
Student 1: Thanks for meeting me here. I really would like to talk to you about what happened and see if we can make things right between us.
Student 2:Student 1: First I want to say I am sorry for being so inconsiderate. I got so wrapped up in this project and my ideas for the project that I didn’t listen to what you were trying to say. I interrupted you while you were presenting your ideas and didn’t allow you to finish.
Student 2:
Student 1: Well that is why I wanted us to talk. I want you to know that you and your ideas are important to this project. And that I am sorry for having been so rude to you. I really would like to hear your ideas for the project and I hope you will accept my apology.
Hi Lisa, when our group met the other day (Flow/Gratitude) we talked about how this play could use more tension. We thought that for the scene between the students, maybe instead of being vague as the script called for, you and Steven could come up with a more real example of something that happened, something specific instead of just" this project." For instance, you could make something up like, "I really want to talk to you about what happened when we were trying to find an appropriate venue for our play" or "...what happened when we were designing our global warming presentation" or "...what happened when we were developing our theoretical orientation for our theories of counseling class" or whatever you and Steven decide upon. Then the second student, Steven, could be more specific like (as an example) "I really liked the idea of using the XYZ theater as a venue, but you rejected it as too expensive before we even had a chance to find out the cost. If we don't bother to ask about it, how do you know it won't be suitable?"
I hope I'm not being bossy here--it just seemed like the audience would connect better if the two students were talking about something more tangible than "this project" even though it can be something completely made up, and anything you and Steven decide upon.
Just a little feedback from the flow and gratitude team, to be taken with a grain of salt.
