Dragon Boat Festival, April 30
The 6th annual Dragon Boat Festival for the south sound area will be held on April 30, 2011 in Olympia. Saint Martin’s University will be sponsoring this event. The event will be held in the Olympia waterfront, at the Port Plaza, next to the Olympia’s Farmers Market. Event runs from 9 am to 4 pm. Our class will participate in this event. Field Trip to Portland Chinese Garden
On 5/14 our class will have a day-long field trip to Portland Chinese Garden (http://www.portlandchinesegarden.org/). You will learn more about the different styles of Chinese Gardens and enjoy the beauty of Lan Su Yuan. While there, learn how to do Tai Chi, and take a workshop on PenJing–a miniature Chinese bonsai.
