Range:
S. Alaska to S. California

Habitat:
Subtidal from 2 to 150m on rocky reefs.

Misidentification:
Chlamys rubida

Life History:
Free swimming, although this species may attach to rocks by way of byssal threads.

Predators:
Pisaster spp., Evasterias spp
