Suggestions from Sunday's Group DiscussionSubmitted by Jill Story on Tue, 02/05/2008 - 7:02pm.
On Saturday when the Gratitude and Flow group got together we discussed: One way to give credit to "Our Town" is to run a clip of "Our Town" much like what Kricket has done on our website. A lot of us hadn't heard of "Our Town" before and thought that it would be easy to run a clip to the audience to help them understand what we are trying to do. This way we can ease up on repeating or saying "Our Town" so much in the beginning of the play. Another thing that our group discussed was what should the play be called? Here are just a few suggestions: 1. Our Positivity City 2. Positivity at Play 3. Positive Psychology at Play 4. Positive Play We thought that the husband and wife scene should have some out loud self-talk going on. The students should have something that they reference. Such as what are they working on? Play, statute, paper...ect. When our group talked about quotes...one that was brought up was Mark's quote by Tao? A suggestion that this quote be used as the final quote of the play. Another suggestion was to have our children read quotes. Jill ( categories: Gratitude and Flow )

That's a cute idea, but normally, children aren't able to project their voices out, nor are they able to face the audiance. No one will hear them. I think the quotes are an important part of our final project. The audiance needs to hear them. I don't think the children would do it justice. Don't get me wrong, I love children. I just know that from working with children in plays and programs, they aren't able to speak loud enough for the audiance to capture what the children are saying and the message will be lost.
