The Aberdeen Spar is closed on September 1985 for reasons that I could not find in time. Alan McWain recreates the original Spar sign in 1986 out of the same material as the original sign that was possibly taken down during the renovation of the Spar in 1945.

The card room is replaced with the cigar "humidor" room for people to relax and smoke.

Waitress Shirley Allen works her last year at the Spar in 1986.
