forgiveness

Submitted by Lacey on Wed, 03/05/2008 - 1:59pm.

Over the past year I have been focusing on coming to terms with my past, which has involved forgiving the wrong that I felt had been done to me. For this activity I was not able to go through the process again because I guess you could say I am up to date on my forgiving, but I still feel close to the process of forgiving my daughters father so I will write about that.

Recalling the hurt was easy for me, I was unable to deny the hurt because it was an everyday part of my life (my daughter), but I did suffer from stomach ulcers and extreme anxiety for over 2 years until I was able to finally accept the reality of the situation and stop blaming myself for the entire situation.

EMP reflection

What a wonderful day it was!!! I was a little apprehensive about having to fill out the paper, it turned out to be easier than I thought(though I still had some difficulty). The EMP itself was not as fun as enjoying the time spent with classmates. I was a little disappointed that the one thing I vividly remember from the last time I went there (8 years ago) was not still there, or at least I couldn’t find it. That would be a Jimi Hendrix shrine complete with a full sixed wax sculpture.

Resilience factor response

I really enjoyed this book. Had I read it six months ago I have a feeling that it would have been foreign and felt unreachable to me. Beginning in October I was taking 12 credits of class and living in my car in Olympia so that I could stay in school. I grew so much within the last 2 two months of fall quarter. As I was reading this book I could pin sown and put names on all of the changes that took place within myself, All of the factors of resilience seemed to shine through and guide my life in a calming and accepting way. For the first time I was truly able to see how negative circumstances can be used as an opportunity to learn and grow.
