SAFEPLACE INTERN MEETING TO FINALIZE CONTRACTS

David Koska will meet Weds, Dec. 5th at 9 a.m. in Lab 2, 2211 with all students doing internships at SafePlace.  At this meeting, you will finalize your contracts and learn more about the organization.  You must fill out and return the volunteer paperwork before this meeting.  SafePlace interns can submit their final contracts in their program portfolio on Dec. 5th at 10:30 a.m., rather than on Dec. 3rd.   

SafePlace can still accommodate several interns.  Please contact them if you're interested.

PRESENTATION FEEDBACK FORMS AND PORTFOLIO INSTRUCTIONS

These forms are now available under "assignments."  Please print 10 copies of the presentation feedback form and one copy of the portfolio instructions. 

FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE

Phil Owen from the Family Support Center would like to give students in our program preference for his organization's internship openings.  The positions are filling quickly, so please call or email him as soon as possible.  The internship syllabus for the FSC is attached below so you can see what kind of work is possible.

SCHEDULE CHANGE (Weds, Oct. 17)

Seminar will run from 10-11:30 on Weds, Oct. 17.  The seminar paper is optional, but you must still read Gladwell's text.

SCHEDULE REVISION

On Monday, Oct. 15th from 9:00-11:00, author and educator Dr. David Altheide will be speaking on fear, social control, and the impact of fear on individuals' willingness to reach out to others. His latest book is Terrorism and the Politics of Fear.

GREEN-PINK WASHINGTON

Planned Parenthood is excited to announce "Green-Pink Washington," an advocacy movement designed to explore the relationships between environmental health, health care services, sexual health education, and women's rights. If you are interested in volunteer or internship opportunities, please read the Green-Pink attachment below. Training starts Oct. 13th and 14th in Seattle, and volunteer work starts right away.

TRANSGENDER PERFORMANCE ARTIST
