A rigorous midterm collaborative video essay project required students to interrogate everyday experience in a shared way while negotiating issues of authorship, voice, project management, and accountability. Students were given a total of two weeks, from start-to-finish, to do the work.
This assignment was designed for students to:
- Gain hands-on experience crafting a video essay by working collaboratively to plan, write, produce and present a finished work that reveals intersections between our programmatic theme (everyday experience), poetry and/or creative nonfiction, and electronic media art.
- Advance swiftly through a comprehensive planning and production process.
- Have peer support while working through that process.
- Strengthen collaborative abilities in a creative context.
