Save Yourself
By Jana Ogden

Trying to save me from the nothing I've become
I scratch away the pieces
But I'm still here.
Held together with stitches and scars.

Scratching away the pieces
I find nothing underneath
Except a mass of stitches and scars,
And a broken girl.

I find nothing underneath
But faces I hide from you.
And a broken girl
Who looks out at the world.

The faces I hide from you
Look out from behind masks.
Look out at a world
That doesn't realize

That I'm still here,
Trying to save me from the nothing I've become.
